Welcome to the Butterfly Pavilion of Westminster, Colorado. The images on this and the following three pages are of a variety of butterflies from the Butterfly Pavilion's 30,000 square foot facility.
These delicate creatures are shipped to Westminster everyday as chrysalises were they are allowed to finish developing into adults.
As adults they will live about two weeks, feeding off the nectar that is in the flowers blooming in this indoor rainforest.
The pavilion is open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving. The normal hours of operation is 9 AM to 5 PM. In summer the hours are extended to 9 AM to 6 PM.
