Loch Vale Hike

The following images are from the path to Loch Vale. This particular set of photographs was taken during a hike on Fathers Day, June 2006.

The trailhead starts just below Bear Lake and runs for 2.7 miles to Loch Vale. Sections of the hike are strenuous but the vistas are well worth the effort to get to the lake. There are other trails that extend off the main path so other destinations are possible as well.

Beaver Dam on the trail to Loch Vale
Water Fall on the Loch Vale trail

These two pictures are along the trail to Loch Vale. The stream has the beaver dam on the right and the waterfall as well. The stream is always near the trail sometimes out of sight but it seems that one can always hear the water as it rushes downhill.

It was interesting to have the noise from cars and people slow down the further away from the trail head that one got. After a mile or so the number of people on the path drops noticable. Between passing hikers the sound or rather the lack of it is really noticable.
